Applied Petroleum Technology
APT provides ”Best in Business” for Petroleum Geochemistry, Biostratigraphy and Petroleum Systems Analysis.
APTs Petroleum Geochemistry capabilities include new, state-of-the-art, equipment for all traditional analyses and much more! Top quality IT systems include our own, in-house, tailor-made LIMS (Laboratory Information Management System) – APTLims! This allows us to better communicate with clients, plan analysis programmes, control progress and report results. We pride ourselves on quality and flexibility. We will discuss with new clients how they would like the analyses performed and how they need them reporting to allow rapid inclusion into corporate databases.
APTs full range of Biostratigraphic Services is in extensive use by our clients before, during and after drilling operations. We have complete in house control of all aspects of our work, from sample registration in APTLims, through preparation in our modern laboratories, microscope work, and to the final interpretation report. Our very experienced staff has been a part of Norwegian Oil History since its infancy. This provides an excellent basis for an entirely independent interpretation – at the well-site or from our main office. We provide Quality through Integrity.
Petroleum Systems Analysis is widely applicable to the reconstruction of the geological and thermal evolution of sedimentary basins and for quantitative assessment of the extent and timing of hydrocarbon generation. A petroleum systems model is a digital model of an entire petroleum system, in which the interrelated processes are numerically simulated, in order to both understand and predict them. Computer-assisted modelling provides numerical simulation of the complex and inter-related dynamic processes. The benefits to the exploration/appraisal geologist are enhanced predictive capability and significantly reduced exploration risk, from well explored petroleum provinces to poorly explored and undrilled areas.
