Det norske oljeselskap ASA is an innovative, independent and ambitious oil company. Det norske has become a significant actor on the Norwegian Continental Shelf with numerous licenses, both as operator and as partner. Det norske´s contingent resources have tripled over the last year, the current mid-range estimate being 475 million barrels of oil equivalents.
The company has experienced an amazing growth, from a small independent to a mid-cap E&P company. Det norske´s registered office is in Trondheim, whereas headquarter functions are divided between Trondheim and Oslo. The company also has an office in Harstad.
In 2011, exploration well 16/2-8 struck oil at Johan Sverdrup, large quantities of it. With a 20 percent interest in this world-class discovery, Det norske is set for further growth. Sverdrup represents history in the making, and Det norske is proud to be a part of it.
Det norske is in the process of becoming a fully-fledged E&P company. In Q1 2013, the company expects Jette, Det norske´s first field development as operator, to come on stream.
