Ecotube system by EcombWhat is the Ecotube System?
The Ecotube System comprises retractable, selfcleaning lances – penetrating the furnace, fan system, water-cooling system and control system. A SNCR (Selective Non Catalytic System), where agents like ammonia and urea are used, may be included depending on plant specific requirements. The Ecotube System has been installed in furnaces fired with Waste, Biomass and Coal all over the world.

How does the Ecotube System work?
The Ecotubes deliver air at high pressure to the upper furnace sections via the lance tube injection system, changing the air flow vectors while gas mixing is significantly improved when laminar flows change to turbulent flows. At the same time essential gas and particle residence times are increased in the furnace. The impact of this is an increased utilization of furnace volume and an increase in combustion process efficiency – we call it Volumetric Combustion. Supplying combustion air at various elevations in a furnace is a well established technology – Air Staging – for NOx reduction, but Ecotubes take this technology to the next elevation, when the air is supplied via nozzles right in the middle of the furnace.

The Ecotube System can also be effectively combined with FGR (Flue Gas Recirculation), to further combat NOx formation in furnaces.

SNCR in all Physical States – unique portifolio
ECOMB offer SNCR as an additional system for further NOx reduction by means of injecting agents via the Ecotubes. Most often water solutions of primarily urea, ammonia or ammonia sulphate are utilized as the agent. But with Ecotubes ALL Physical States, such as urea (g or aq), ammonium sulphate (g or aq) and ammonia (g or aq), are available – customized for each individual case.

Furthermore limestone and similar agents for de-SOx can also be injected via the Ecotubes.
