LOS Elektro AS carries out measurements for the classification, operation and maintenance of electrical systems on ships. In this connection, we have invested in a new yard with cranes, drying systems and pressure washers near Wärtsilä Norway at Rubbestadneset. Wärtsilä Norway is our biggest customer, with marine divisions at Rubbestadneset and Ålesund. We have around 300 ships calling each year with large and small commissions in connection with the classification and servicing. In many cases, we also undertake major renovations of alarm systems or propulsion systems, thrusters, generators, etc.
We also carry out maintenance on generators, thrusters and other large electrical machinery on ships offshore, and we have signed a long-term contract with Wärtsilä Norway AS as a turnkey supplier. The agreement, which runs until 2013 with further options, covers areas such as ship power systems, automation, offshore field service and marine support services – which means complete delivery of the electrotechnical installations. Because our technicians and engineers have helped to build Wärtsilä Norway’s products for many years, they have acquired a great deal of expertise and experience with ship power products such as inverters, panels, generators, motors, propulsion systems and alarm systems. At times we also help to launch new systems, with training in software.
ON-AND OFFSHORE INSTALLATIONS
We have been involved in the oil and gas industry since 1986. This has given us unique know-how and an extensive network within this sector. Our expertise and experience are in demand, and for years we have worked closely with companies both offshore and onshore. We have framework agreements with several giants of industry for maintenance and smaller installation projects, both nationally and globally.
On the construction side, we have had personnel on Snøhvit, Ormen Lange, Kårstø, Mongstad and Kolsnes. LOS Elektro AS has signed a maintenance contract for Kårstø with AF Gruppen.
Our customers in offshore and construction work include:
