Port of Luleå
Welcome to Port of Luleå!
Port of Luleå is a public port which, in spite of its northerly position and thanks to excellent co-operation with modern state-run and locally operated ice-breakers, is open for shipping all the year around.
Within the port area there are four harbour sections: the Victoria Harbour where dry goods are handled, Uddebo for liquid products – mostly oil and tar based – and the industrial quays of LKAB and Cementa, respectively.
The port also operates an old iron ore quay, used for off-season harbouring of governmental icebreakers as well as reception of cruise ships -heading for the city of Luleå.
Modern infrastructure and installations are key enablers in assuring the ports capability in handling all kinds of bulk goods, as well as general cargo.
As one of the five largest ports in Sweden – around 700 vessels carrying more than nine million tons of goods call at Port of Luleå every year – a substantial number of which have a loading capacity (DWT) of more than 55,000 tons.
