RS Sea Rescue Academy is responsible for training and development of volunteers and employed crews on RS’ around 50 rescue vessels, both locally at the academy and through a mobile training concept covering the entire Norwegian coast.
RS Sea Rescue Academy also has a full portfolio of courses and training programs covering HSE, safety and emergency preparedness for fisheries, shipping and the offshore oil and gas industry, as well as landbased industries and businesses. The academy annually delivers training for around 4500 course participants in the various courses.
RS Sea Rescue Academy has been a stable and reliable supplier since 1972, and is known to have a strong focus on customer needs and to deliver tailormade training to fulfil them.
In addition to a wide range of courses and training program RS Sea Rescue Academy also serve as a resource and advisor for companies and organizations that face various challenges in health, environment and safety related issues.
In connection with the development of RS’ training and competence center in Langgrunn near Horten, the ambition is for RS Sea Rescue Academy to be developed into the leading center in Norway and one of the leading centers in Europe when it comes to safety, sea survival and rescue and emergency response.
The facility is scheduled for completion in the autumn of 2017 and will consist of three major educational containing conference facilities, overnight rooms, a restaurant and extensive exercise and recreational areas. RS Sea Rescue Academy will also retain its state of the art simulation facilities at the campus of the University College of South-Eastern Norway.
To ensure safety and quality is RS Sea Rescue Academy is certified under ISO 9001: 2015 by Bureau Veritas, and holds all necessary approvals from the Norwegian Maritime Directorate and Norwegian Oil and Gas, delivering training in accordance with international standards.
RS Sea Rescue Academy is qualified via Achilles JQS as asupplier to the offshore industry.
