Sea and Land Project Consultants Limited
Sea and Land Project Consultants provides engineering design and consultancy services to the offshore oil and gas and renewable energy industries. Founded in 2010 from the London based engineering group of SLP Engineering Limited, the company has built on its personnel strengths and experience in providing structural design and consultancy services to offshore developers and contracting companies carrying out EPC and EPIC projects. Sea & Land has developed its skills on Oil & Gas projects over the last 30 years, skills that more recently have been applied to the offshore renewable energy markets.
Offshore Structures Foundation Design
Sea & Land project experience covers the full range of activities necessary to execute an EPC or EPIC project: including feasibility and conceptual design studies, detailed design, construction and installation support. It is this wide involvement throughout the project life that distinguishes Sea & Land engineering capability from that of other organisations. The skills and experience learnt on the company’s projects is available to benefit other clients on their projects. Our support to the tendering process of our clients usually requires a definition of the design that is as close to the final design as possible. This can only be done because of the experience we have built up over many similar projects. Our designs take due cognisance of the construction facilities of our clients and wherever possible we design for their ease of construction. These skills can be used by developers in the early stages of their projects to get design concepts that are construction friendly and realistically priced so making the most of these early cost estimates.
Conceptual and Detailed Engineering
Projects have included the conceptual and detailed design of foundations for platforms that have ranged from 500 tonne MFP (Minimum Facility Platform) jackets in water depths of 20-50m to wellhead and accommodation jackets in water depths up to 106m. Our most recent project is for a 6000 tonne jacket for the new bridge linked wellhead platform to be installed on the Montrose field in the North Sea. Our capability extends to the structural design of process and drilling platform topsides and the complete topsides design of accommodation and substation platforms.
Offshore Wind Farm Foundation Design
Sea & Land personnel have been involved in the design of offshore renewable energy projects since 2001. Our first projects were for met masts in UK waters, followed by the design of wind turbine generator mono-pile foundations for a number of the projects tendered at that time, this culminated in the successful award of the foundation engineering for the Thanet offshore wind farm. This project included the design of mono-piles up to 5.2m diameter founded in chalk strata and the design of the substation. Sea & Land has since provided designs for offshore substation foundations for the Amrumbank, Butendiek, Veja Mate, Merkur and Hohe See wind farms to the demanding requirements of the German BSH and is also currently working on the detailed design of the Dudgeon offshore substation project.
