Wago is to electrical spring connections what Xerox used
to be for copying. We have been the leading inventor and
supplier of electrical spring technology ever since our
beginning in 1951. The springs in our terminal blocks,
which are 100% guaranteed maintenance free and
provide reliable electrical connections are perfect for
utilization in the shipping industry; due to the demand
for high reliability where technology is subject to
vibrations, rapid temperature changes, and otherwise
harsh conditions.

It all began with terminal blocks, we continued the legacy
and utilized the same connections in our compact PLCs
and remote IO systems. We do not want the reliability of
our automations to be reliant on bad connections.
The 750-automation system from Wago is not about
reliability alone. Wago’s compact design, open solutions
with communication capabilities with all major bus
systems, and a wide signal range are just some of the
features, which have helped build a reputation we proudly
stand behind today. However, the key factor is most

likely the consistent focus on ship approved equipment.
All our automation products are developed to withstand
harsh environments and corresponding functionality,
whether it may concern vibrations, temperature or
EMC requirements on the bridge. Consequently, our
accredited Exi modules developed for the O&G are
utilized in many applications such as monitoring
systems where hydrocarbons are present onboard. The
direct integration of Exi barriers in the remote IO cards is
a compact and engineering friendly design.

The portfolio of the 750-series accommodates all main
signal types and protocols, including Ethernet, Modbus,
NMEA, CAN, and a large range of others as well. The
fact that all the main ship-classing authorities like
DNV-GL, ABS, LR, KR, BV, NKK, RINA verify the system,
and that we develop special technology interfaces
like the proportional valve controller specifically for
requirements pertaining to shipping industry, has earned
us this significant position. Wago and our partners have
been focused on shipping for decades, and have great
aspirations for the future of the industry.
